Certified Physical Therapy Assistant

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a Certified Physical Therapy Assistant to provide physical therapy services to students with varying disabilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Job Summary:The Certified Physical Therapy Assistant will collaborate with all members of the IEP team and families to improve student outcomes. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, a strong understanding of physical therapy principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Plans and implements therapeutic programs based on individual goals and objectives under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Assists supervising Physical Therapist with instructing educational staff concerning use of adaptive equipment, transfer and movement techniques, positioning program, maintaining equipment, and integrating therapy goals into the learning environment.
- Consults weekly with supervising Physical Therapist concerning implementing interventions, accommodations, and modifications, student response to treatment, and use of adaptive equipment.
- Contributes to progress reports by collecting data and other documentation as requested by supervising Physical Therapist.
- Completes Medicaid forms as directed.
- Participates in IEP meetings and Physical Therapy meetings as requested.
- Organizes, inventories, and maintains equipment.
- Assists with clerical and logistical needs of the program.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
- Associate's degree.
- Completion of a two-year accredited program in Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience working with children with diverse developmental disabilities.
