About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Barback to join our team at PENN Entertainment, Inc. As a Barback, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant and bar areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport and transfer beverage products to and from warehouse, storage areas, bars, and other designated areas in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Set up and support restaurant bar areas, including cleanliness, trash removal, product restocking, and maintaining Board of Health sanitation standards.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness, as well as beverage service techniques and safety, with regard to the safe handling of beverage products for guest consumption.
  • Display knowledge of emergency procedures, including familiarity with MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for chemical usage.
  • Ensure that bar and equipment are in good working order and that the work area is clean and hazard-free.
  • Work efficiently with co-workers and management in a fast-paced casino environment, providing positive communication and customer service skills to every patron and co-worker.
  • May be required to perform duties at the Lawrenceburg Event Center (LEC).
  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position's job description where necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or guest service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year experience in club, lounge, or gourmet restaurant bar service industry as a bar porter, barback, or similar position is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols, and be involved in daily professional communication with supervisors, co-workers, and guests.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to obtain an Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission License and an Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License.

  • The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push or pull 150 to 250 lbs on a pushcart, and enter walk-ins of -10 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit with or without assistance.
  • Must handle heat from cooking appliances, glassware, and washing machines.
  • Requires normal or corrected vision range, with the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
