Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team at MedPro Healthcare Staffing. As a Psychiatric RN, you will provide care for patients with mental health issues, assessing, diagnosing, and treating people with psychiatric problems.

Job Summary:
  • Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care.
  • Administer and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of psychotropic medications.
  • Assist patients, and families as appropriate, to interpret and manage maladaptive behaviors and to plan healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Exercise balanced judgement in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner.
About the Role:

As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse, you will work as part of a team to provide total medical care for the patient. You will be responsible for assessing the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges, collaborating with medical providers and mental health staff, and administering and monitoring the effectiveness and side-effects of psychotropic medications.

Requirements:
  • Active RN License
  • Degree from accredited nursing program
  • BLS Certifications
  • Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting
  • Other requirements to be determined by our client facility
