Role: Clinical Nurse Educator / Continuing Education Planner
Position Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Day Shift
Orientation ResponsibilitiesEngage in the onboarding process for new hires by collaborating with the education team to coordinate schedules, conduct orientation sessions, and mentor new staff in Home Healthcare and/or Inpatient Services. Your role will focus on educating them about best practices, protocol utilization, documentation standards, and available resources.
Competency DevelopmentOversee the timely completion of competencies for new clinical staff in partnership with designated personnel. Ensure that individual competency records are meticulously documented and maintained.
Educational Material DevelopmentAssist in creating and updating educational presentations and materials to align with current practices, ensuring consistency throughout the organization.
Continuing Education InitiativesContribute to the planning and development of educational programs based on staff needs assessments and requests from various departments. This includes organizing sessions that offer continuing education contact hours.
Ensure compliance with PSNA and other provider requirements to secure contact hours, which involves developing learner outcomes, overseeing marketing materials, maintaining activity logs, and managing attendance certificates and evaluation summaries.
Staff DevelopmentProvide personalized education and support to staff following their formal orientation to ensure adherence to best practices, proper protocol usage, and resource management, while meeting organizational and regulatory requirements.
Design and deliver educational programs as approved by the Director of Education.
Offer additional individualized training to enhance documentation practices for clinical personnel.
Assist in the development and execution of hands-on competency assessments during Annual Reviews.
Maintain a repository of clinical resources for staff and respond promptly to requests for educational materials.
QualificationsMust possess a valid RN license in Pennsylvania.
Education: BSN required.
Experience: Previous hospice experience is essential.
Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care is required within one year of hire.
Demonstrated proficiency in educating and mentoring staff, with strong organizational, communication, documentation, and clinical skills.
Able to create effective presentations and engage audiences in both small and large group settings.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary; proficiency in English is required.
Must be adept in using technology, including Suncoast, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, TalentLMS, and databases.
