Job Summary

Thompson & Lichtner Co Inc The is seeking a skilled Welding Inspector to join our team as an on-call team member. As a Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of welds on construction site buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect welds, welded connections, rebar, etc., to ensure work meets industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure compliance with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Write accurate reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Certified Welder (CW) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS)
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) from AWS or equivalent certification from another recognized organization
  • Proven experience in welding techniques
  • Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) experience is a plus
  • General computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel)
  • Ability to keep detailed field notes, record data, and write reports
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Ability to work safely and independently
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs., walk/work on uneven surfaces, work outside in various weather conditions and from heights
  • OSHA-10 preferred
  • Authorized to work in the US

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Team player with good organization skills and ability to follow directions
  • Punctual and reliable with a desire to learn
  • Good communication skills with a clean record and valid driver's license
