Position Summary
The Cultivation Lead is accountable for overseeing daily operations within designated areas of the Cultivation Facility, reporting directly to the Supervisor of Cultivation. Key responsibilities include:
Main Responsibilities:
- Guiding Cultivation Agents on operational procedures;
- Directing the application of organic pesticides under the guidance of cultivation consultants;
- Managing inventory of cultivation supplies and placing orders as needed;
- Collaborating with the Director of Cultivation to align harvest schedules with dispensary sales trends and supply requirements;
- Programming and monitoring the Environmental Control System;
- Maintaining a comprehensive database of environmental controls and conditions;
- Adjusting the Environmental Control System for optimal operational efficiency;
- Providing pesticide recommendations and ensuring the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program is effective;
- Implementing policies and procedures for the cultivation facility;
- Reviewing the Communication Binder for updates and current information;
- Enforcing compliance with all local and state regulations;
- Maintaining accountability among team members regarding their specific roles;
- Upholding all company policies and procedures;
- Ensuring that maintenance tasks are current, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and technology.
Training & Development:
- Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding cultivation team members;
- Ensuring all team members are knowledgeable about products and can train others;
- Participating in monthly management meetings;
- Attending quarterly team meetings.
Business Operations:
- Guaranteeing that cultivation yields sufficient flowers to meet the demands of MIPs and extractions;
- Producing high-quality products free from pests and contaminants.
Company Culture:
- Acting as a brand ambassador and training team members to represent the brand effectively;
- Adhering to and promoting the company's core values, including respect, diversity, sustainability, research, and service;
- Ensuring all team members align with the company's cultural principles.
Loss Prevention:
- Training all team members with the Director of Security to prevent cash and product diversion;
- Conducting random audits of cash and products across departments using an audit checklist;
- Ensuring each department performs self-compliance audits monthly;
- Reviewing security protocols with the management team for each department;
- Overseeing monthly product inventory for all departments;
- Reviewing Loss Prevention (LP) procedures with managers quarterly.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old;
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience managing a diverse team;
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required;
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or patient services preferred;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Basic math skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team;
- Organizational and decision-making skills;
- Analytical and detail-oriented;
- Proactive approach to tasks.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours a day with rotating shifts;
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays;
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds;
- Capability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repeatedly throughout the workday;
- Ability to stand for extended periods;
- Ability to use a ladder (up to 12 ft. extension) and general tools for repairs;
- Willingness to work in various conditions, including exposure to fumes, dust, odors, and noise.
