Job Summary

Flatiron Construction is seeking a highly skilled Pipe Foreman to join our team. As a Pipe Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising a crew of workers and ensuring the safe and efficient installation of pipes and other infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a crew of workers and ensure the safe and efficient installation of pipes and other infrastructure.
  • Oversee daily assignments of crews, including scheduling, assignments, attendance, and certifications.
  • Monitor work progress and certify team hours for on-site payroll.
  • Delegate tasks and accountabilities, and instruct, lead, supervise, and direct crew members.
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
  • Supervise the crew's use of machinery and equipment, and ensure adequate resources are available.
  • Assist the Superintendent in preparing reports pertaining to work progress and safety.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in the heavy pipe industry, including water, sewer, and storm drainage installation, and general civil construction.
  • Ability to build trench boxes, set boxes, and plates.
  • Install deep and heavy pipes and structures using dewatering systems.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Strongly prefer candidates with a High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a construction supervisory role preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and working experience of DOT standards and regulations preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively with workers and subcontractors.
  • Able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (day/night).
  • Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.
  • Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Must demonstrate attention to details.
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
