Addison Group is in search of a Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This pivotal role will assist the Business Manager with a variety of financial responsibilities, including general ledger management, financial reporting, budget oversight, cost allocations, and compliance support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute standard journal entries for daily transactions and month-end closures, ensuring adherence to the general ledger close schedule for thorough review by the Business Manager. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports along with ad hoc analyses.
  • Conduct analysis and reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledger transactions and account balances on a monthly basis to guarantee precise financial reporting.
  • Support the preparation of contract expenditure reports while familiarizing yourself with funder requirements and deadlines. Contribute to the automation and optimization of processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Engage in all facets of the division's budgeting processes, including the annual operating budget, contract budgets, modifications, renewals, and RFPs. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the division's revenue streams and expenditures.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analyses comparing budgeted to actual results, providing detailed explanations and support. Monitor and report on flexible budget constraints.
  • Participate in the fiscal year-end closing and internal audit processes, as well as funder monitoring engagements. Identify and promote opportunities for enhancing financial processes.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Addison Group's policies and procedures, as well as funders' reimbursement guidelines, to ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Assist with financial initiatives and projects, and perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare standard journal entries for daily transactions and month-end closures, while adhering to the general ledger close calendar.
  • Proficient in analyzing and reconciling various general ledger and sub-ledger transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Experience in preparing contract expenditure reports and understanding funder requirements and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes, including annual operating budgets and contract modifications.
  • Ability to conduct variance analyses and monitor budget limitations effectively.
  • Experience in participating in fiscal year-end audits and identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Knowledge of compliance with organizational policies and funders' guidelines.
  • Capable of supporting financial projects and initiatives as required.
