Oncology Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Oncologist for a locum tenens opportunity near New London, CT. This position offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work with an experienced team of healthcare professionals in a dynamic outpatient cancer practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert medical care to patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Split time between two locations, ensuring consistent and comprehensive patient care.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15 patients per day, with 1-2 new patients daily.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to deliver holistic care in a 1.0 FTE environment.
  • Limited on-call duties, approximately 1 in 5, with very light call responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards.

Schedule and Details

This is a semi-flexible position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On-call duties are limited, approximately 1 in 5, with very light responsibilities. The location is near New London, CT, and the start date is ASAP. We offer competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Board-Certified Medical Oncologist with a valid Connecticut license.
  • Significant experience in outpatient cancer care is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
