Position Overview

H2M Architects and Engineers is in search of a Plumbing/Fire Protection Staff Engineer to enhance our well-established MEP Discipline at our headquarters. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various engineering tasks including design, calculations, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and development of projects, which encompasses creating drawings, performing calculations, estimating costs, and drafting specifications for a range of plumbing and fire protection initiatives.
  • Facilitate project coordination with other engineering and architectural teams within the organization.
  • In collaboration with project engineers, prepare plumbing contract drawings and specifications suitable for public bidding.
  • Oversee construction administration tasks, including the evaluation of contract submissions.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant design experience in a consulting environment, specifically with plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Proficient understanding of applicable plumbing codes and standards at both state and local levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Revit software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of various local government regulations is beneficial.
