Radiology Technologist XRAY

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Ascension Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines, IL. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients, working closely with physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
Responsibilities- Take radiologic films to provide quality images to physicians for diagnosis.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging, selecting exposure factors accurately.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
- Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
- Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other areas.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date, Limited Radiology Technician credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date, Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
