About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Connections Health Solutions. As a crisis interventionist, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate and effective care to individuals in crisis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing, with experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. You will be responsible for assessing individuals, documenting pertinent information, and providing education to individuals and their families regarding behavioral health diagnoses, medications, and treatments.

Responsibilities
  • Nursing Assessment and Documentation: Complete detailed nursing assessments with individuals, documenting pertinent information, including triage, medical/behavioral health assessments, and medication administration.
  • Treatment Planning: Plan individual treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team, addressing the unique needs of both adult and youth individuals.
  • Education and Health Literacy: Provide education concerning psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and others involved in the individual's care.
  • Crisis Intervention: Intervene with verbal interventions to defuse out-of-control or potentially dangerous behaviors in both adult and youth populations.
  • Seclusion/Restraint Procedures: Demonstrate thorough knowledge of seclusion/restraint standards, guidelines, and techniques, and initiate documentation and debriefing with individuals following any seclusion/restraint incidents.
  • Medication Administration and Documentation: Accurately transcribe provider orders and administer medications as prescribed, and attempt to have individuals sign medication consent forms.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program
  • Unrestricted active license as a registered professional nurse through the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege
  • Must be able to perform safe clinch patient restraint techniques
  • Working on ASAM 3.7, the RN shall have competencies and experience in conducting an alcohol or other drug-focused nursing assessment
  • Must pass the following background checks: child abuse clearance, FBI criminal background check, Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check, and level 1 fingerprint clearance card
