Radiation Therapist Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team on a locum basis in Peoria, Illinois. As a Radiation Therapist, you will work under the guidance of an oncologist and physicist to prepare patients for radiation treatment and administer treatments for cancer and other conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiation treatment, including taking precise measurements and fitting them with specialized equipment.
  • Administer radiation treatments under the guidance of an oncologist and physicist.
  • Monitor patients' responses to treatment, including side effects, and adjust treatment schedules or doses as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with a medical team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
  • Active ARRT certification and BLS certification (AHA).
  • Active Illinois license/certification.
  • 2+ years of experience required.
  • Experience with Varian Truebeam and Aria systems.
