We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Siemens Healthineers. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures serving patients, including infants through adult geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Diagnostic Exams: Conduct diagnostic general imaging ultrasound examinations according to AIUM and ACR guidelines for procedures and scanning protocols.
- Locate and Image Internal Elements: Locate and image internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
- Provide Diagnostic Information: Provide a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including but not limited to: breast, abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Ensure patient safety, monitoring the patient for potentially dangerous physical and/or emotional change.
- Evaluate Test Results: Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
- Review Patient Case Studies: Review patient case studies with peers and physician.
- Inform Physicians: Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures.
- Distribute Test Results: Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
- Prepare Diagnostic Information: Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
- Maintain Patient Charts: Maintain patient charts, entering diagnosis and billing codes, logging data into patient information systems, and updating file systems for tests performed.
- Clean and Sterilize Equipment: Clean and sterilize equipment and work space.
- Recognize Equipment Malfunctions: Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or request for system repair.
- Instruct Patients: Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures.
- Comply with Policies: Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain Equipment: Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure.
- Maintain Technical Competency: Maintain technical competency through continued education.
- Perform Equipment Quality Checks: Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshooting problems.
- Follow Quality Assurance Guidelines: Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Abide by HIPAA and OSHA Standards: Abide by all HIPAA standards for patient privacy and all OSHA standards for safety regulations.
- Ultrasound Background: Ultrasound background with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience required, specifically in the specialties of general, breast, and abdomen.
- Acuson S2000 Experience: Acuson S2000 experience preferred.
- Valid ARDMS License: Valid ARDMS license.
- Valid CPR Certification: Valid CPR certification.
- Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication skills both written and verbal needed.
- Interact with Client Personnel: Interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional, and ethical manner.
- Must be Flexible: Must be flexible, reliable, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
