Job Summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Armed Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular security patrols of our facilities and grounds to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and incidents, providing a high level of customer service and support.
  • Investigate and document incidents, gathering information and evidence as needed.
  • Enforce all rules, regulations, and policies of CHRISTUS Health, ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a seamless and effective security response.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest security protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Level 3 Certification (Texas) or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of armed security experience (may be substituted by Honorable Military Service).
  • Law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Previous healthcare security experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • IAHSS Basic Security Certification.
  • Verbal De-escalation training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Expandable Baton training, defensive tactics training, firearms training, and weapon qualification.
Work Environment

CHRISTUS Health is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system based in Texas. Our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to those we serve.

This role requires frequent exposure to aggressive behavior and emotionally charged situations. Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions such as fires, chemical spills, and flooding may also be required.

The successful candidate will be required to take random drug test screening and obtain a valid driver's license.
