Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at St. Peter's Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and procedure requirements
  • Interpret doctor's scanning instructions and ensure accurate execution
  • Assess patient risk for allergic reactions to contrast media and review lab values prior to administration
  • Explain effects and potential side effects of contrast media to patients
  • Start IVs, administer IV and oral contrast, and monitor patients for reactions
  • Determine supply needs and select appropriate equipment for procedures
  • Provide clear instructions and address patient questions and concerns
  • Educate patients about radiation risks and benefits
  • Position patients for optimal imaging and prepare equipment for procedures
  • Perform quality assurance on images and ensure timely transfer to PACS
  • Select appropriate radiation exposure factors and utilize lead protective devices
  • Control access to radiation exposure areas and maintain equipment
  • Participate in department projects, such as ACR accreditation and quality initiatives
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Current ARRT certification in CT
  • 1+ year of experience in CT imaging
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
