Faculty Position in Pharmacy Practice at Jefferson College of Pharmacy

The Jefferson College of Pharmacy's Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking applications for two full-time, 12-month faculty roles at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in education and patient care, actively engage in professional activities at various levels, and aspire to establish a scholarship platform that enhances the reputation of the practice area, college, and university.
The specific area of practice expertise is flexible and should align with the college's overall requirements. Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to: inpatient adult internal medicine, ambulatory care, drug information, and/or social/behavioral/administrative sciences.
Successful candidates will exhibit strong leadership abilities, effective written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills. Experience in classroom, small group, and experiential teaching environments is essential, along with the potential to cultivate a sustained record of scholarly contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver high-quality didactic and experiential courses in pharmacy practice.
- Establish and maintain a clinical practice site (for clinical practice positions).
- Engage in collaborative scholarly research initiatives, including presentations and publications.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to pharmacy students.
- Participate in departmental, university, and community service activities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance pharmacy education and practice.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of students.
Required Education: PharmD or PhD degree.
For clinical practice positions:
- PharmD degree
- Completion of PGY-2 pharmacy residency in the desired clinical area or equivalent experience
- Eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania
- Board Certification in specialty area if available
PhD degree in a relevant field or a PharmD degree with advanced training in a social or administrative science discipline (e.g., fellowship in Pharmacy Administration, Pharmacoeconomics, or Health Outcomes).
