Job Summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to join our team at PAM Specialty Hospital of Las Vegas. As a PRN Pharmacist, you will work as needed during facility hours and on call, providing clinical pharmacy services to patients and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret medical orders and transcribe to patient medication profiles accurately
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
  • Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, and appropriateness of drug and dose
  • Assist with pharmacokinetics consult service and drug dosing per organizational protocol
  • Review culture and susceptibility data for antibiotic appropriateness and recommend changes as needed
  • Detect and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Sustain the formulary by minimizing nonformulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selection
  • Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners
  • Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely
  • Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities
Qualifications
  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Must be a licensed Pharmacist in good standing in Nevada
  • In-patient/hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred
  • IV compounding experience highly preferred
  • Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and healthcare professionals
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, and holding of small objects
  • Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and on call
