POSITION OVERVIEW

The role involves supporting various aspects of patient accounts and insurance processes. This position is ideal for a self-driven, organized, and detail-oriented individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle incoming phone inquiries
  • Welcome patients in the administrative office
  • Process payments from patients both in-person and via phone
  • Engage in clear and effective communication with patients and staff
  • Adhere to medical billing regulations and standards
  • File insurance claims and conduct necessary follow-ups
  • Depending on coding certification and experience:
    • Ensure accurate and appropriate code assignment and sequencing
    • Evaluate provider documentation for coding correctness and suitability
    • Maintain open communication with management and providers regarding documentation concerns
  • Collaborate with team members to address inquiries related to coding, documentation, denials, and billing
  • Assist in maintaining an efficient, clean, and organized office environment
  • Occasionally travel for banking and postal duties

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in medical billing
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance related to medical coding, billing, and documentation
  • Basic computer proficiency for using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other online systems
