Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Monitoring Engineer to join our team at Omni Inclusive.

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-4+ years of experience in batch monitoring, L1 troubleshooting, and problem management on the mainframe platform.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, as well as working knowledge of MQ and Kafka, is required.
  • A good understanding of Mainframe OPCC scheduler and distributed Autosys systems is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities

Batch Monitoring: The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive batch monitoring to ensure timely execution and minimize downtime.

L1 Troubleshooting: They will troubleshoot issues with mainframe jobs, including job failures, and work with developers and other teams to resolve these issues.

Problem Management: Our ideal candidate will implement effective problem management strategies to resolve recurring QA mainframe job failures and reduce Mean Time To Recover (MTTR).

Status Reporting: Regular status updates will be provided to stakeholders to keep them informed about job performance and any issues that may arise.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • 3-4+ years of relevant experience in mainframe operations.
  • Excellent communication and email writing skills.
  • A strong understanding of enterprise batch processing systems and technologies.
Estimated Salary

$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
