Job Summary:
UTMB Health is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the Pathology Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a NIH-funded project studying yellow fever virus and the live attenuated 17D yellow fever vaccine virus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent research in virology with minimal supervision
- Design and perform experiments to study yellow fever virus and the live attenuated 17D yellow fever vaccine virus
- Write papers, protocols, and lab reports associated with the project
- Collaborate with other researchers on related projects
- Meet all State and Federal requirements necessary for working with Select Agents
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in immunology, virology, cellular biology, molecular biology, or a related field
- Experience working with viruses
- Highly motivated and able to conduct independent research
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Select Agents
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
