Job Overview

SUMMARY:

The Cash Counting Specialist is tasked with managing audit fills and reconciliations, as well as overseeing slot drop collections. This role ensures adherence to relevant laws, regulations from the Gaming Commission, and company policies governing financial transactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Gaming Commission's regulations and internal company policies.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of all cash count transactions.
  • Assist in the collection and counting of cash from table games, ensuring proper reconciliation of gaming revenues.
  • Oversee the slot drop process, including counting and securely transferring funds to the main bank.
  • Replace cash containers in machines during the slot drop process.
  • Monitor the status of cash containers, ensuring they are either full or empty, and maintain vigilance throughout the process.
  • Utilize sensitive keys responsibly during cash handling operations.
  • Open and close cash containers and slot machines as necessary.
  • Support the reconciliation process for slot drops.
  • Prepare various financial reports, including transfer sheets and reconciliations, ensuring all totals align with the Master Summary.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation within the department.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to resolve any discrepancies in cash counts.
  • Operate and maintain equipment in the counting room, performing minor repairs as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to facilitate communication and information flow.
  • Be accountable for the precision and completeness of departmental records and reports.
  • Maintain a consistent attendance record.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:

EDUCATION:

A high school diploma or GED is required. Additional coursework in Banking and Finance or related fields is preferred.

SKILLS:

Strong communication skills are essential. Candidates must be detail-oriented, particularly with numbers, and proficient in computer use.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret instructions in various formats.

MATH SKILLS:

Competence in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply logical reasoning to diverse situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position include regular communication, standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs consistently. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role involves regular interaction with cash and may be subject to moderate to loud noise levels.
