About the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for engaging in high-quality, evidence-based instruction in introductory undergraduate engineering courses, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in service activities within the department and university.
We are seeking candidates with a Ph.D. degree in engineering education, engineering, or a closely related discipline, and a strong interest in teaching hands-on, project-based engineering courses, particularly in the early years of the curriculum.
Responsibilities and Qualifications- Engage in high-quality, evidence-based instruction in introductory undergraduate engineering courses (e.g., First-year and Sophomore Engineering Clinics)
- Contribute to the development of curriculum, interdisciplinary projects, pedagogy, and teaching materials
- Engage in service activities within the department, college, university, and professional organizations
- Foster a collegial and inclusive learning and working environment
- A Ph.D. degree in engineering education, engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Evidence of strong interest in teaching hands-on, project-based engineering courses, particularly in the early years of the curriculum
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds
Estimated salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
About the College and DepartmentThe Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering is home to six departments, including Experiential Engineering Education, which cultivates a collaborative environment for engineering education research and implements educational innovations in the classroom.
The ExEEd department is responsible for the College's signature First-year and Sophomore Engineering Clinics and oversees the B.S. in Engineering Entrepreneurship program, a novel undergraduate degree program that blends engineering with business skills.
