The Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is a licensed pharmacist responsible for applying knowledge, skill, competence, and clinical expertise in our intensive care arena. This role is a key member of the surgical ICU team, providing direct patient care services including the safe and cost-effective use of medications.
Key Responsibilities- Apply pharmacotherapy knowledge to directly influence and impact physician prescribing to improve the use of medications throughout the Health System.
- Work with the surgical ICU team to provide direct patient care services, including the safe and cost-effective use of medications.
- Participate in staff development, precepting pharmacy PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents, and doctoral-level pharmacy students.
- Create opportunities for pharmacists to practice more clinically and promote rational and cost-effective use of medications at Grady Health System.
- Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of Pharmacy.
- ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency (or five (5) years post PGY-1 residency experience).
- Board Certification in Critical Care Disease preferred.
- Fully licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia or eligible for full licensure within 120 days through reciprocity or exam.
