Aircraft Mechanic I Job Description

At Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), we are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic I to join our team. As a key member of our engineering and information technology firm, you will play a critical role in supporting mission-critical IT business needs for clients within the intelligence community, Department of Defense, Veteran Administration, and select commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine aircraft maintenance functions to ensure the safe and efficient operation of aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
  • Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations, maintaining the highest level of safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain aircraft fuel, oil, and hydraulic systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Utilize hand tools and equipment to perform maintenance tasks, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Read, write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems, identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and preserve aircraft and aircraft systems, including fuel, oil, and hydraulic systems, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Service ground support equipment, performing preventive maintenance inspections to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Accurately complete maintenance documentation using OOMA and required forms, as required by job assignment.
Qualifications:
  • Must be skill-qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173 Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services, or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
  • Must have two (2) years' minimum experience in rotary wing aircraft.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent - General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance and base access.
