Ambulance Fleet Porter

Vital Medical Transport is seeking a highly skilled Ambulance Fleet Porter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our vehicles are well-maintained, safe, and prepared for response. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage vehicle inventory daily to ensure each vehicle is fully stocked with supplies and equipment.
- Update the equipment tracking log and request replacements when necessary.
- Work professionally to facilitate coordination of efforts between departments and crews.
- Perform full detail of all vehicles, including washing, polishing, vacuuming, internal/external cleaning, and carpet shampooing.
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance on all vehicles and maintenance equipment, including oil changes, replacing air filters, and fluid level checks.
- Assist in maintaining tires/wheels of each vehicle, including inspections, cleaning, and changing per applicable season.
- Ensure all maintenance equipment is operational at all times and safe.
- Notify manager of any vehicle damages or the need for major repairs.
- Assist in maintaining maintenance logs for each vehicle and stock parts and supplies needed to perform routine repairs.
- Maintain a valid and clean driver record to perform vehicle appointments/errands.
- Stay up-to-date on all traffic laws.

Please note that marijuana is illegal in the state of Tennessee. A positive test will void any offer of employment and will cause termination if tested at a later date.
Requirements- State Driver's License, CDL Preferred but not mandatory.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Driving record in compliance with company policy.
- Experience working with vehicles, preferably in healthcare.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work involves exposure to the elements, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
- Must be able to work in all environments.
- Extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
