Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our team at People People. As a Research Technician, you will play a critical role in conducting laboratory experiments and supporting the success of our research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study Support: Maintain study support areas and procedure rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked with supplies, and ready for use.
  • Animal Care: Assist in the routine care of laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, sanitation, maintenance, and room cleaning.
  • Sample Collection: Perform various biological sample collection procedures, including blood, urine, fecal, and tissue samples.
  • Data Entry: Accurately record and enter data, including observations, food and water consumption, body weight, and other study requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the operation and maintenance of equipment, such as washers, scales, balances, and analytical equipment.
  • Weekend and Holiday Work: Provide weekend, holiday, and after-hours support, usually on a rotational basis.
  • Technical Assistance: Participate in the conduct of studies and assist in solving technical problems.
  • Animal Health Programs: Assist in laboratory species health programs, including providing observations for disease detection and administering prescribed treatments.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience working in a laboratory preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and animal behavior observation skills.
  • Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new systems.
  • Time Management: Ability to work under specific time constraints and extended hours beyond normal work schedule.
