POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Climbing Wall Staff member, you will create a positive, professional, and inviting atmosphere by delivering exceptional customer service and overseeing participants while embodying our YMCA values. You will warmly welcome participants and provide friendly and efficient service at our Challenge Areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee Challenge Areas and ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to participants and their families.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Safety Policies, Procedures, and Emergency Response Plans, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Vigilantly observe participants to identify potential conflicts or behavioral issues before they escalate.
  • Exemplify exceptional leadership, values, and conduct.
  • Provide accurate and courteous information regarding membership requirements.
  • Address participants' needs promptly and contact appropriate personnel when necessary. Handle complaints with professionalism and effectively resolve issues.
  • Perform maintenance tasks for Challenge Areas as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to assist others at heights exceeding 20 feet.
  • Experience in supervising or caring for children is preferred.
  • Must possess maturity, responsibility, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to interact positively with both children and adults, demonstrating enthusiasm and flexibility.
  • Must consistently align with and exemplify the YMCA's four core values.
  • CPR Pro & First Aid Certification is required within the first 30 days (training can be provided).
