About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Callan Marine Ltd. as a Marine Electrical Specialist. This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electronics and electrical equipment on the dredge under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all electronics and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronics and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
  • Record all repairs and maintenance in the electronic system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Manage electrical spares and tools to ensure availability and accessibility
  • Calibrate sensors and instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Verify certifications of instrumentation to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives to promote a safe and sustainable work environment
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrician experience with a strong background in electrical systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of AC motors, variable frequency AC drives, MCC's, and medium voltage systems
  • Experience with medium voltage generators and engine controls
  • High voltage certification preferred
  • Familiarity with PLC, computers, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to comply with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Efficient work ethic and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to obtain TWIC
Preferred Skills:

**Physical Demands:**

The job requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Some physical demands include:

  • Moving around job sites of varying heights
  • Standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30lbs, with heavier items requiring assistance
  • Pushing and pulling heavy objects
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights
  • Adapting to various work conditions and environments
