Transformative Leadership Role: Director of Advanced Heart Failure Program

Sentara Health is seeking a seasoned Program Medical Director to spearhead the growth of its esteemed Heart Failure Program. This program encompasses advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.
Based at Sentara Heart Hospital, a nationally recognized destination medical center, the AHF clinic conducts 10,000 patient visits annually. The hospital boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including five catheterization laboratories, five cardiac operating rooms, a Hybrid Operating room, and four Electrophysiology laboratories.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a collaborative approach to patient care. They will be responsible for overseeing the program's clinical and administrative aspects, ensuring seamless integration with the hospital's cardiac services.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies for program growth and expansion
- Lead a team of cardiologists and surgeons in providing comprehensive heart failure care
- Collaborate with hospital administrators to ensure efficient program operations
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in heart failure treatment and research
- M.D. or D.O. degree, licensed to practice in Virginia, and board certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in cardiology or a related field
- Excellent clinical and technical skills, with a focus on heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support
