Job Summary

The Nurse Educator Specialist is a key member of the Perioperative Services team, responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing staff development, orientation, and continuing education activities. The primary goal is to achieve staff competency and quality patient outcomes. The Nurse Educator Specialist will also contribute to special projects related to performance improvement activities and evaluation of current practice or equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement nursing staff development programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
  • Develop and maintain educational materials, including policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for educational improvement
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement educational programs
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
  • Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Card required
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP Instructor certification preferred
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience with additional experience in education and training
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office required
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment set-up an advantage
