Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surface Combatant Craft Engineer to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our Materiel Readiness Director team, you will be responsible for providing technical and administrative supervision in all areas of surface combatant craft management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and validate new or revised programs, establishing acceptable parameters and reviewing management implementation principles.
  • Interpret directives from higher authority and develop procedures, regulations, and implementing instructions for the Naval Special Warfare Community.
  • Supervise and direct a staff of civilian personnel, overseeing all facets of the maintenance and materiel readiness team to ensure successful work accomplishment.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance.
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate the following:

  • Providing technical and administrative supervision in all areas of surface combatant craft management that have significant impact on efficiency and readiness.
Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

  • A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET.
  • B. Combination of education and experience - college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
