Job Title: Intensive Care Unit RN

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physiologic health status, including gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological systems. Develop individualized plans of care to address patients' needs and goals.
  2. Implement and Evaluate Care: Implement care plans, coordinate with other healthcare team members, and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided. Document patient outcomes and make adjustments to care plans as needed.
  3. Communicate Effectively: Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination. Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
  4. Administer Medications: Administer medications safely and correctly, including IV drips and local solutions. Educate patients and families about medication use and potential side effects.
  5. Participate in Patient Education: Provide education to patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care. Recognize and utilize health teaching opportunities to promote patient empowerment.
  6. Perform Related Duties: Perform other duties as required, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and collaborating with other healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing (required) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • BLS/ACLS certification, plus specialized certifications as needed.
