About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Controls Team Lead to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the service and repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide leadership for assigned teams, ensuring developmental plans are in place.
  • Lead execution efforts of assigned business, ensuring consistency of delivery systems and monitoring business plans.
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure all sales opportunities are supported, including linkage to installation opportunities.
  • Advance potential market opportunities to the attention of the appropriate branch or region resource for strategic direction.
  • Ensure serviced account portfolios achieve growth, proper profit levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend and support staffing requirements for the assigned business.
  • Serve as a communication channel to share standard methodology strategies and results, enabling SSNA vision.
  • Implement plans to comply with and monitor standards for HVAC operations, auditing effectiveness and making changes to improve performance.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are completed, and customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Drive service and installation operational review meetings, reviewing bids and estimates for accuracy.
  • Effectively use branch personnel and management and deployment of overall resources.
  • Analyze operations processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Drive other managerial responsibilities, including performance reviews and acquisitions consistent with established business strategy.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain operational staff, preparing and delivering clear performance expectations, performance reviews, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Work with team leaders to ensure proper workforce and skill levels for the successful and profitable execution of the business.
  • Perform other duties related to customer satisfaction, deployment of critical initiatives to teams, development and maintenance of team business plans, and account management of service customers.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with programming, installing, and/or commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction, service mechanical, electrical, or HVAC service industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e., Modbus, LON, BACnet, etc.).
  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly computer-related drafting tools, such as Visio.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or an associate degree in a related technical field with ten years of relevant work experience required.
  • Understanding of IP networking for building automation systems.
