Job Summary

As a Meat/Seafood Butcher at Big Y, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, cutting, trimming, scraping, packaging, tying, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and labeling meat products. You will also process special customer requests, maintain supplies, and identify all cuts of meat and seafood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, cut, trim, scrape, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price, and label meat products
  • Process special customer requests, including special cuts of meats and seafood as necessary
  • Maintain supplies and identify all cuts of meat and seafood
  • Order, receive, prepare, weigh, finish, slice, price, package, merchandise, and stock product as needed
  • Maintain proper department conditions, including shelf, case, sales floor, backroom, freezer, and cooler
