Position Overview:
The Emergency Response Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding individuals and assets within the facility by overseeing the entry and exit of personnel and vehicles, while executing additional tasks that enhance the overall security of the site.

In emergency situations, this role is pivotal in delivering timely medical assistance and facilitating transportation to ensure the well-being of any individuals who may be unwell or injured on the premises.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-aid care to those who are ill or injured and arrange for their transport to a healthcare facility when required.
  • Assist in the evacuation of injured individuals from emergency scenes.
  • Engage with medical professionals to discuss treatment protocols and manage the care of affected individuals.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and logs related to services rendered.
  • Control access at the facility's entrance to regulate traffic flow.
  • Guide visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel to their designated areas.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to prevent unauthorized removal of company assets.
  • Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate departments as necessary.
  • Conduct routine checks of fire safety equipment and manage inventory.
  • Assist in training sessions for colleagues as required.
  • Register visitors, vendors, and contractors upon their arrival.
  • Perform general maintenance and cleanliness of the work environment.
  • Ensure that protective equipment and vehicles are in optimal condition.
  • Update safety management displays and inform all personnel of critical weather alerts.
  • Administer drug or alcohol testing as mandated by management.
  • Participate in training for and assist with Technical Rescue operations.

Scope of Role:
This position is essential for regulating access to the facility, ensuring the safety of all personnel, including employees, visitors, and contractors, while fulfilling additional responsibilities related to the protection of both individuals and property.

Supervisory Structure:
Supervision: None
Reports to: Safety Manager

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EMT-B certification or higher, with EVOV and precepted training.
Physical capabilities to climb, balance, bend, kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods.
Able to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Availability for rotating 12-hour shifts.

Success Metrics:

  1. All individuals on company premises are accounted for consistently.
  2. A sufficient supply of fire extinguishers is always available.
  3. All individuals requiring medical attention receive prompt and appropriate emergency care.
