Job Summary

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for two Professional Lecturer positions in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at DePaul University. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses at the undergraduate level, including lectures and labs for general chemistry, organic chemistry, or biochemistry, depending on their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses, including lectures and labs, for general chemistry, organic chemistry, or biochemistry
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and course materials
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
Requirements
  • PhD in chemistry or biochemistry
  • Experience teaching at the college level
  • Experience working with diverse student groups
  • Experience teaching both in-person and online chemistry courses
  • Experience teaching in a liberal arts environment that emphasizes close faculty-student interaction
