Overview

An established and growing Chicago-based proprietary trading firm, Roy Talman & Associates, is seeking a highly skilled Proprietary Trading Specialist to join their team.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing new trading strategies utilizing proprietary software and customizing current strategies.

Unlike other firms, our traders work closely with our dedicated technology team in developing and enhancing existing strategies.

Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree from a 4-year university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.

A strong GPA (3.5 or higher) and proven ability to develop new, profitable trading strategies are also essential.

5+ years of working experience in high-volume trading is necessary, with a preference for those with the ability to do light programming work using multi-dimensional arrays, nested loops, complex conditionals, and simple file I/O.

Fluency in Excel with experience in VBA and C+ is also preferred.

A strong mathematical aptitude, ability to work effectively in a team, and think independently are also required.

Effective communication skills, even under pressure, and the ability to adapt to changing situations with ease are also necessary.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to use sound judgment while trading.
