Job SummaryThe Utility Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the identification, protection, and relocation of public and private utilities to accommodate the design and construction of transportation projects. This role requires excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively interface with utility owner personnel and project design and construction personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Research and obtain utility record drawings and facilitate Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) activities to identify and locate utilities.
- Interface with utility owner personnel and project design and construction personnel to establish roles and responsibilities for utility design and construction activities and track these activities throughout the project life.
- Perform and/or coordinate design and constructability reviews related to as-built and/or proposed utilities for projects.
- BSCE (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with utility design or related work.
- Licensed as a PE (preferred).
- Experience with utility design and utility construction methods.
- Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Exceptional communication, technical writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
- Experience with managing complex utility projects.
