Maintenance Role at Spark by Hilton

Job Purpose: To ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our hotel's physical structure and grounds, utilizing hand tools and power tools, while adhering to company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC functions, using hand tools.
  2. Notify management of any major repairs or additions required for lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  3. Respond to guest requests for service according to company policy, maintaining accurate records of completed rooms.
  4. Program phone equipment according to hotel needs.
  5. Monitor equipment and utility meter readings daily.
  6. Remain accessible to Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
  7. Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
  8. Ensure par stocking of regularly used parts and supplies.
  9. Learn emergency procedures.
  10. Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls using clippers, weed cutters, and edging tools.
  11. Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs using shears, pruners, or chain saw.
  12. Clean grounds and remove litter using spiked stick or broom.
  13. Shovel snow from walks and driveways, spreading salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
  14. Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, watering lawn and shrubs.
  15. May repair fences and gates, walls, walks, etc., paint fences and outbuildings, and clean out drainage ditches and culverts.

Required Skills:

  • Understand and apply specifications.
  • Work to precise measurements.
  • Use arithmetic to measure, compute materials, and inspect products.
  • Lift and move materials and products.
  • Climb and balance self.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
