Position Details:
Role: LPN - Sage Road Pediatrics
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; Occasional Saturdays from 8 AM to 12 PM
Licensure: A valid North Carolina license is mandatory.
Position Summary:
The LPN at Duke Primary Care is responsible for delivering direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. This role involves administering medications and specialized nursing techniques as prescribed, while ensuring adherence to the standards set by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and intravenous fluids as directed, maintaining accurate records.
- Provide and document nursing care for assigned patients, collaborating with registered nurses and physicians.
- Monitor patient responses to care and report findings to the supervising nurse for evaluation and adjustments to care plans.
- Assist healthcare personnel in delivering patient care and performing diagnostic procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies to enhance patient comfort and safety.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and assist in the training of new staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a comprehensive understanding of practical nursing principles, the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, and the capability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Competency in basic life support and familiarity with infection control protocols are essential.
