Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter II to join our team at the Department of Forestry & Fire Protection. As a Carpenter II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of construction and repair tasks, including building, repairing, and maintaining structures, fixtures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry work, including building, repairing, and maintaining structures, fixtures, and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Operate power tools and equipment, such as saws, drills, and sanders
  • Measure and cut materials to exact specifications
  • Assemble and install structures, fixtures, and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools

Working Conditions

This position may require working in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. You may be required to work in a variety of settings, including outdoors in inclement weather.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Ability to operate power tools and equipment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
