Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotations, as well as diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
A competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, is offered for this position. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Communicate with the operations team to ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- A valid driver's license is required. CDL is not required but may be beneficial.
- Experience working on heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school is required.
- Must be able to speak and read English well enough to converse with colleagues, drivers, and dispatch, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records.
- Must be able to meet the physical and safety requirements of the position.
- Must be able to provide own tools.
- 2+ years' experience working as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic.
- Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems, diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, CAT, Peterbilt, and Paccar.
- Working knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor. Frequent squatting and standing is required.
