Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population, including those with complex needs.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities, including coaching and mentoring department staff in clinical and professional practice.
  • Role model compassionate communication with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team.
  • Lead department clinical activities, assess department needs, and serve as a clinical resource for department staff.

  • Role model patient and family-centered care standards.
  • Develop, update, and communicate plan of care.
  • Advocate on patient/family's behalf to identify and resolve clinical and ethical concerns.

  • Model standards of care related to the nursing process.
  • Anticipate/prevent and recognize/resolves early declines in patient condition.
  • Identify areas of practice improvements with research-based evidence.
Finance
  • Model independent time management and prioritization of daily tasks.
  • Implement department strategies to achieve financial targets.
Growth/Innovation
  • Identify opportunities for practice changes and performance improvement.
  • Investigate and incorporate evidence-based practices.
  • Champion new care pathways or service line implementations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Three years of nursing experience.
  • One year in specialty preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
