We are seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, employees, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide security services to protect medical center patients, employees, and visitors by staffing assigned posts, patrolling assigned areas, and investigating unusual occurrences.
- Respond to emergency and general assistance requests, including Team 7000s, restraints, patient observations, and disruptive persons.
- Participate in access control by checking identification, screening visitors, and clearing areas at the end of visiting hours.
- Direct vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and ensure ambulance bays are cleared of unauthorized vehicles.
- Offer assistance and direction to visitors and patients, and detain those individuals not authorized to be on the premises.
- Submit timely and complete reports on all pertinent security activity.
- Conduct security escorts upon requests within the Medical Center, to parking lots, and to staff residences immediately adjacent to the center.
- Escort Medical Center funds and valuables from various locations to the Cashier.
- Collective bargaining unit: SSOBA-MSBI.MSB
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
