Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at New Flyer. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in improving manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and increasing efficiency within our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes to optimize production efficiency.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Conduct time studies and motion analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve process capabilities and reduce waste.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support to production teams to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production problems and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure compliance and quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role with a proven track record of improving production efficiency and quality.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout and design.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles with experience in implementing them in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with time studies, motion analysis, and workflow optimization to improve production efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
