We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team at The Old Dominion Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Estimating: Develop and manage bid pricing from vendors, review documentation, and communicate with vendors and contractors to ensure understanding of project requirements.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct ongoing research to ensure accurate estimates, and analyze costs of materials, equipment, and labor.
- Take-Offs and Bidding: Complete take-offs using on-screen take-off software, and generate accurate and detailed estimates and purchase orders for all products.
- Project Management: Prepare and submit bid packages within specified timeframes, and conduct ongoing cost analysis to verify profitability.
- Communication and Collaboration: Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and trade partners, and communicate with team members throughout all stages of the project.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in construction estimating.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications, and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, standing, and using a computer.
- On-Screen Take-Off Software: Prior experience using on-screen take-off software.
- Professional Certificate: Professional certificate in construction estimating.
