Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medical Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health System. As a Nuclear Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides, producing diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist, and maintaining proper maintenance of required records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibrations and Quality Control procedures
  • Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment, including Gamma cameras, Thyroid Uptake probe, dose calibrator, and Geiger counter
  • Produce accurate floods on cameras and report abnormal calibrations on images
  • Prepare and inject or orally administer radionuclides to patients
  • Maintain dose logs and properly dispose of Radioactive waste
  • Adhere to Radiation safety, Infection Control, and all other safety regulations
  • Attend annual in-services and document Radiation Safety and Infection Control practiced by the technologist
  • Enter proper exam codes into the Radiology Information System
  • Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies
Requirements
  • Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related health field
  • New Graduates must have a Nuclear Medicine permit issued by NYS Department of Health
  • New York State license in Nuclear Medicine
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of Nuclear Technologist experience
