Inova Fairfax Hospital's Level 1 ED Trauma Unit is seeking a Full-time ED Trauma Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work as a clinical expert and leader within the department, providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of our team.

About the Role

The Trauma Nurse Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical expertise and guidance to RNs in the trauma bay and patient care areas
  • Assisting with the Trauma Nurse Orientation program and serving as a preceptor and mentor for the unit
  • Utilizing standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
  • Collaborating with the healthcare delivery team to provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Two years of RN ED experience in a Leveled Trauma hospital
  • Strongly prefer 2 years of Level 1 ED experience
  • BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
  • Clinical Certification required: BLS; Adult Trauma Nurse Specialist will require ACLS upon hire
