Position Details

Title: Housekeeping Operations Lead

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

Employment Type: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Compensation: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the commitment to Sonesta Service in all guest interactions, fostering a culture of customer service excellence among hotel staff.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in recruiting, training, and evaluating team members, while providing recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Conduct inspections of assigned rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet guest expectations.
  • Guide staff on areas needing improvement and provide necessary retraining.
  • Support the training of new employees, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Help coordinate cleaning schedules and room assignments to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Perform various housekeeping tasks, including cleaning guest rooms and public spaces, to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Work with the Housekeeping Manager to manage inventory and maintain adequate supplies for linens and room amenities.
  • Oversee laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are operational and adequately stocked.
  • Manage the lost and found procedures efficiently.
  • Encourage teamwork and quality service through effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all levels.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with two years of housekeeping experience, including some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay hospitality sector is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Strong reading and writing skills are necessary for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including budgeting and understanding profit/loss concepts.
  • Proficient problem-solving, organizational, and training skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
  • Ability to handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Capability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
